In-person events scheduled in West Kootenay
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will be visiting the West Kootenays in September to meet with employers.
These free information sessions are a great chance to:
- Learn more about Canada’s immigration programs, including the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP)
- Ask questions directly to an IRCC Outreach Officer
- Get clear information on how immigration can support your business

Dates: September 16–19, 2025
Locations: Nelson, Trail, and Creston (in-person)
Cost: Free (registration required)
There will be two types of sessions each day:
- Morning session: Rural Community Immigration Pilot for Employers – for designated or interested employers who want to learn how to hire through the Rural Community Immigration Pilot.
- Afternoon session: Immigration 101 for Employers – for any employer wanting to understand immigration pathways that may help with recruitment and retention (including those eligible for RCIP).
