Thank you for your interest in the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) in the West Kootenay region.

West Kootenay RCIP Updates

January 6, 2026: We continue to experience a very high volume of inquiries. At this time we are prioritizing processing community recommendation applications that were received between July and September 2025 as well as Employer Designations. If you have already reached out through the contact form, there is no need to send a follow-up message, your communication has been received. Thank you for your patience and please note it may take up to two months for you to receive a response.

November 27, 2025: Our intake for 2025 is closed. We expect to reopen in spring 2026. Before reopening, we will process all pending employer designation applications. In 2026, designated employers will receive an email update with the reopening date, application process details, and any changes to how the pilot will be delivered. Updates will also be posted on the West Kootenay RCIP website in the new year.
